Ozone

In my world, every self-respecting seaside town sports an "Ozone Hotel".



OK, at a pinch, I might deign to accept an "Austral", "Commercial", "Crown", "Empire", or even a modest "Grand Central", but "Ozone" is the most glam for seaside vintage bliss.

I made a hat for this, just because it's fun, and what I like, and that's good enough, perhaps :) It has a feel I like...it has hair...has scarves with cute vintage textures...is big and floppy....is made of all recycled pixels (hah I lie about that bit; it's all fresh new pixels going straight to landfill, snort)

The Ozone sunhat is copy/mod. It's got great low-lag removable scripting to let you happily change hat textures, scarf textures, and hair colours.






As you can see, there are four. They are combos of patterns, and also combos of hairstyles. All hair is included, and you can choose between a bob or a long plait down the back.

Because they are mod, remove the hair if it's not your thing and wear the hat with your own. Easy.

All hats have the basic 5 hair textures, ranging from blonde to black, but you can add a tint via the edit menu to anything to get the look you need. There are demos available instore to help you, so please try them. If you have any issue colour matching, contact me, as I'd like to get it right for you.


Also, I go in a Hunt once a year, so this is my third. This year's begins in about 2 days, and it's a fresh new one called the "You Go To My Head" hat hunt. It's all hats, and what great timing :)

Coquette....

Introducing "Coquette"...beautiful and very adaptable shoes



Each satin shoe comes in a basic colour, with three extra satin options to extend the possibilities. So each is more than one plain shoe.



They are hud-controlled, to help you get them just right. Use this to make your selection of shoe-texture, metal texture (gold or silver), nail colour and shine, and most importantly skin texture and tint.



Resizing can also be handled by hud. Or edit menu if you like to do it the old-fashioned way :P



"Coquette" shoes are copiable and modifiable (no-mod scripts), so you can adapt them to whatever look you may need. Pop a customised copy into your outfit folders, and then safely delete the scripts.



See- I am still plying Eccy with free shoes (and cups of tea), but she's not so messy these days.

Fashion For Life

I'm there...and busy doing all those last minute things that need doing as it opens very very soon. And it's a very worthy cause.

I popped by to see Eclectica's location, and was extremely happy to find Troy Vogel's vision in Volta. It suits me. It really clicks.

My store just slid right in so happily it was eerie :)




Eclectica is in the hunt, so if you join in, you'll find me at some stage. I have a unique version of the Vintage Dress Ring as a prize.




Plus there are some very worthwhile donation vendors instore, raising funds for cancer research. And a gacha gacha. And a raffle.

And two new Eclectica releases are debuting at Fashion for Life. More on those later :)

Clusters of Beads and Gems

In the 70's, when I was a wee bit younger, my mum always had this amazing ring in her jewellery drawer. It was cheap but fantastic plastic, and made up of all these little beads, which rattled about as the ring moved. I borrowed it everytime dress-ups were happening.

I'd always wanted to make one in SL, and did...but then I couldn't settle on a colour and the idea grew, as I started having way too much fun in Photoshop making bead textures. And then it became a whole set. "Eclectica Clusters Jewellery Set-Daytime Glow".....

And then as I liked gems as well, it became two sets."Eclectica Clusters Jewellery Set-Evening Glitz".....



Both have a single removable script per piece that allows you to play with the textures to get the look you want. Both have multiple bead options and black, silver and gold metal options. "Evening Glitz" also has hidable/showable details, plus the ribbon is either black or ivory. All pieces are copy/mod, so you can further customise them to make them exactly how you wish.

Style them to be contemporary or retro- either way suits.

Here I am,circa 1975 (courtesy of a time machine), freshly returned from the hairdressers and now hostessing in the kitchen, about to prepare a tupperware-tray of cheese cubes, gherkins and cocktail frankfurts (in Australia, we still call these 'little boys'...waits for the full horror to set in), all with festive little toothpicks stuck in them...



A little later in the evening, a closeup of the "Evening Glitz" dress ring (perhaps while serving little chicken mornay vol-au-vents).....

Ringing in the New Year....

...with new rings at Eclectica. Ok please do groan at that terrible pun. It's a shocker, and it's best to just get it out of the way. Things can only get better after this.

But we do have rings at Eclectica. They are small things, but there is a joy in tiny things with surprising detail. As rings are such personal things, each has a tiny removable script to allow you to change textures. Plus all are copiable and moddable, so do experiment with tinting, shine, and alpha if you wish.

Oh...one thing these days that makes ring wearing much more do-able than before is the ability to add, rather than wear prim attachments. I was a little shy of making rings, as they could clash with prim nails, other rings, anything held in the hand, and goodness knows what else you people insist on attaching to yourselves :) I always add now. So you can wear these with other rings, nails...prim hands...more about those later ....

It began with the well known and loved claddagh. This is often used as a wedding ring, but don't let that stop you if you are single- just turn it round the other way on your finger. It's got lovely meaning...the heart is for love, the hands for friendship, and the crown is for loyalty. It's also a well loved symbol for those who adore Simple Minds (who have used the image for the last 30 years)





Then...I made a yin yang ring...another traditional and well loved symbol. It represents how opposites are also complementary, neccessary to each other, and shows the balance between them.





Ohh...did you notice my hands? Yes...they are real, and all I had to do to get them was to chop off my old hands, and attach these from SLink. (SLink De Jolie Mains Hands Relaxed Set 1, specifically) It was quick and painless. It didn't cost much. I think they are a huuuge improvement, especially for anyone who likes SL photography. I have a little trouble matching the shape up to my forearms, but have no issues if I'm wearing them with prim cuffs.

The best thing about them is the fingernails. They are fantastic, and you have almost endless choice. If you had these hands, they would replace every nail in your inventory.

I have a Vintage dress ring, just about to go into the store. No symbolic significance here...just something a bit pretty.






I'm loving shadows, and depth of field these days.. In phoenix you can stipulate the camera's focal length ..isn't that just the bees knees! Just so you know, these are the SLink hands, looking fantastic, but I have photoshopped the joins a bit...where they meet the arms, and where the fingers meet the hand.

The "Enchant" set has had an expansion pack, haha.




I do have a few more rings in mind, and they will make my brain itch until they are realised. So I'll nip off and get creative.

So remember...add...not wear. But this is not for hair. Don't add hair. You will look silly.

Indulge your Inner Princess

It's a tough gig, princessing it over your own mainland realm...banishing treacherous e-peened pantless invaders, maintaining international relations, enduring the adoration of the great unwashed meeroo population during the daily Royal Tour...being a living symbol of something-or-other and the backbone of civilisation...ho hum (yawns)...After a while, one asks oneself "This is all very nice but where is all the swanning about that is my due?"




This is where you must assert your right to the upper class bone idleness and sloth that is your birthright. Be the princess that you were meant to be. Don a tiara and spend the day languorously doing sweet F.A. Maybe do your nails, and hand out a few orders to minions, but thats it.

And I just so happen to have tiaras for proper swanning in. (Cushions, strawberries and manicure sets sold seperately.)

The "Eclectica Regency Tiara" is very comfortable (satin lined), deceptively light in weight despite it's sturdy structure and has been artistically designed to elicit admiration for it's wearer. Even when purchased new it carries the romantic aura of a historic artifact. It can be set proudly amongst any crown jewels, and will last through many generations of princesses-to-come.

There are three; Dawn (palest), Noon (brightest) and Twilight (darkest). Each has removable low lag scripted texture-change options for gems and pearls, so each is very flexible in appearance. Plus of course, they are copiable and modifiable, so you can always use the edit menu to make the colourings perfect for you. And we know how Princesses like things to be Perfect...(grins)

Swans are not included (for swanning about alongside), I hate to say, no matter how nice they are. But these lovely swans you can pick up at Jon Haskell's shop, Sculpty Creations. They are the nicest I've ever ever met ( and that's saying something as I once ran into a horrible hissy one as a child). And made by a nice person. These are going swimmingly in the store, and will not molest you for bread. Promise.

A Vintage Fair is Upon Us

We have a Vintage Fair...the first ever, and I'm very happy to have the chance to participate. A squillion and a half (almost) creators over two sims have joined forces to give every vintage lover a taste of what they can do, as well as an exclusive view of their latest scrummy releases.
I have had fun making something for the event...the booths are small but we can squeeze in...just...



Here's the Eclectica presence at the Fair.

I've decided to make that eternal slacker and bubblehead Eccy earn her wages (finally) and help with PR. A big poke with a stick, and threat to rope in the shoe benefits and here she is...modelling some of the feathers we offer. She has to stand there until...well...when you throw her enough pennies.


We have some exclusive new releases for the Fair.

"Enchant" is a 1930's inspired jewellery set. It has pearls, nicely held with delicate metalwork, and gem details add interest in the right places. Triple strands of detailed pearls at the front are balanced by perfectly sculpted fine metal bands at the back. Each set includes two sets of earrings. One is gorgeously long and dangly. One is more sedate, still gorgeous but not quite as dangly.

Everything is moddable, and copiable, so you can adjust all colours to suit yourself. And the colours are very subtle, and very 1930's.

Plus...we have new hats, with gloves thrown in for fun. (It seemed wrong not to). Introducing The Little Black Pillbox Hat (and gloves) sets. These are tidy little pillboxes, with very well sculpted embroidered net veils. There are three, and all sit prettily about any shortish hairstyle (they are moddable so you can make final adjustments if you need to). Each hat and glove set is copy/mod, plus has a removable low-lag script which allows you to change the texture of the details, and toggle them on and off. (Oh, and resize if you really can't be fagged getting your head round the edit menu, smile) So you can have a plain look, or detailed look, and also many texture options, plus of course be able to modify them via the edit menu. You get to choose just how enticing you are...grin...


Roses. You can have big ones, little ones, or all, or none. And have them in lots of colours.


Pearls, stitched into the net. On or off, or in lots of colours. And there are matching colours for all Ecletica Pearl Mixables jewellery sets.


Feathers, on or off. Plus metalwork details. Match them to existing Eclectica feathers and gloves.

Come and visit anytime up until the 3rd of December. Lag has been awful at the start (I hate that sooo much as it wastes all of our time), but I have been turning up everyday to test it, and am happy to say that things are only getting better there. It's now completely do-able ...(big smiles, as I'm going shopping tomorrow)
